INTERPOL and BI.ZONE strengthen cooperation in combating global cybercrime
INTERPOL and BI.ZONE (subsidiary of Sberbank Group) have signed a formal agreement to substantially enhance and extend collaboration between two organizations in the global fight against cybercrime.
Formalized in October 2017, the comprehensive agreement will see BI.ZONE and INTERPOL Global Complex For Innovation show ongoing support and share its threat intelligence data pertaining to criminal trends in cyberspace, malicious cyberthreats and organized cybercrime.
"The cyberthreat landscape is constantly evolving, growing in both scale and complexity. Cooperation between law enforcement and the private sector is key to effectively tackle this phenomenon," emphasized Mr Noboru Nakatani, Executive Director of the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI).
"The agreement between INTERPOL and BI.ZONE is a giant step forward in our joint fight against global cybercrime. By pooling our efforts and resources with INTERPOL, we have made one step further toward our common goal — a safer digital space," said Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of Sberbank’s Executive Board.
"In the era of global digital transformation, the issue of cybercrime comes to the forefront of our everyday agenda. Given these conditions, international public-private cooperation becomes a ‘must’ for successful mitigation of the cybercrime threat," said Dmitry Samartsev, CEO of BI.ZONE.
Under the new agreement, BI.ZONE experts will provide IGCI with the extensive cybersecurity expertise, in-depth analyses of current trends and unique insights into evolving threats from Russian-speaking Darknet.
"INTERPOL’s agreement with BI.ZONE signals a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to ensure police around the world have access to the information they need to combat cyberthreats," added Mr Nakatani.
