CTFZone presidential election

This year can be reasonably called “the election year”. The world is in turmoil and uproar with hustle and bustle not likely to end. The time of CTFZone has now come.

BI.ZONE is happy to announce the CTFZone presidential election. The election will be absolutely free and independent— no parties or star politicians, only you and your candidate. We invite all the teams to turn into campaign offices and help your candidate to win the race.

The first, online stage, or the primaries, starts on July 15, 2017 at 09:00 UTC and will last for 36 hours. The format is jeopardy, there are 5 categories. Find your trump card and keep it until the next stage—only 10 candidates will make it into the next stage.

The second, offline stage, or the general election, will take place on November 16–17 as part of the conference ZERONIGHTS 2017.

The battle between the 10 campaign offices at this stage will be far more aggressive—the attack/defense format implies the defense of your server and attacks on the servers of your rivals. Such a severe fight is definitely worth it—the winning team will not only declare its candidate the president of CTFZone, but also earn $10,000. The two next teams that come in 2nd and 3rd will receive $5,000 and $3,000 respectively.

The presidential election is enormously important for CTFZone, so BI.ZONE will cover the travel and accommodation expenses and provide visa support for 10 teams which qualify for the second round. (Please note that the number of players in each team should not exceed 5 people.) Taking into account the importance of the event, we ask you to abide by the rules, or you may be disqualified. It is strictly prohibited to:

Attack the infrastructure
Generate huge volumes of traffic (DDoS)
Attack the jury’s computers
Share your flags with other teams

The registration for CTFZone opens on June 09, 2017 at ctf.bi.zone. Check our website and Twitter for updates.

UPD. As there are several CTF contests taking place on June 24–25, many established teams are now facing a hard choice. In this respect, we decided to change the date of the first stage—it will take place on July 15, 2017. The registration is open, the rules remain the same. Capture your chance!
